Back up your notes
Your notes are saved only in this browser on this device. Clearing your browsing data or changing device would lose them, so make a .ntnotes backup now and then. It includes your class recordings and photos. If you’re signed in, your notes also back up to the cloud automatically (see Settings). Restoring adds the notes from a backup and keeps the ones you already have.

Import learning material
📷 Image to notes
Snap a whiteboard, slide, textbook page or your handwritten notes, and the AI will read it and write accessible notes. Add up to 6 images for one note, in order. You can also paste a screenshot with Ctrl + V.
TXT, MD, CSV, Word (.docx) and PDF files work. The AI reads PDFs directly. Pictures go to Image to notes above.

Account & sync
Your account
Quick presets
Turn on a group of settings in one tap. Only the settings listed are changed, and you can still adjust anything afterwards.
Reading
Typeface
Text size & spacing
NoteAble puts these controls in your hands rather than forcing one “dyslexia mode” on everyone.
Reading aids
Dims the page except for a reading band that follows your pointer or finger.
Bolds the first part of each word, so the eye can glide across lines.
Colours & theme
Theme
Dark can reduce glare and eye strain. System follows your device, switching automatically if your device does.
Background tint
A soft colour instead of bright white. Many readers with dyslexia find this easier on the eyes.
Contrast
Pure black and white with bold outlines. Combine with dark mode for white and yellow on black.
Colour vision
Read aloud
Read aloud
Shows 🔊 Listen buttons and lets NoteAble speak text to you. Turn off to hide them and keep the app silent.
Voices
Some of the best read-aloud voices (like Chrome’s Google voices) send the text online. Turn this on to use only voices built into your device.
Speech language and live captions are set on the Live Class page.
Motion & feedback
Motion
Turns off page animations and transitions.
Feedback
Gentle vibrations when you tap buttons, flip switches and finish tasks.
Soft clicks and chimes when you tap buttons, flip switches and finish tasks, and a low tone when something goes wrong.
AI
AI provider
NoteAble uses AI to write your notes, simplify text, make quizzes and draw visual maps. Use NoteAble AI with no setup, choose an AI provider and paste your own API key, or run AI on this device.
Runs AI models inside your browser. No API key, and nothing you study leaves this device. Answers are simpler than the cloud AIs, and the first use downloads a model (once).
Photos are read on this device too (Tesseract), and PDFs are opened on this device (PDF.js).
🔒 Each key is stored only in this browser on this device and is sent only to that provider. Keys are never included in exported settings. Anyone who uses this browser could find them, so don’t save keys on a shared computer.
Downloaded models
On-device AI and speech models stay saved in this browser after you close NoteAble, so they don’t have to download again. Only models that are actually downloaded are listed. Delete them here to free up space. They’ll download again if you use them later.
Data
Settings file (.ntcfg)
Save all your settings to a .ntcfg file. Use it as a backup, to move your setup to another device, or to share it with a teacher or friend.
Note backups (.ntnotes) are on the My Notes page.
